Community Gardens

Did you know that there are community gardens throughout the state?  Check out the number of gardens in Wake County based in schools, community, and churches.  The movement is growing.

Raleigh Community Gardens Meetup is a great way to connect and learn.

3rd Annual Film Feastival

If you missed Triangle Green Home’s showing of FRESH, the movie in October here’s an opportunity to see it and meet one of the farmers featured in the film, Joel Salatin.  Will Allen was the featured speaker at the CEFS Sustainable Agriculture Lecture on November 9, 2009. I was so excited to meet him. He’s awe inspiring!

The movie is so inspiring showing sustainable farming methods and kicking the artificial fertilizer and feed habits.  Learn Michal Pollan’s  film, steps you can take to support the local foods movement and more!

WakeUp Water/Falls Lake Forum Saturday Feb 27th 9:30-noon

Wake Freecycle

Wake Freecycle is a web based community of 10,000 who post stuff for free rather than have it go the landfill. You’d be amazed at the variety of goods offered, working and not. They get picked up ASAP. Must be a lot of talented folks out there who can fix almost anything.
